The Mac Pro is Godlike

August 24th, 2006 · 3 Comments

Not only is the Mac Pro cheaper than its hardware equals, but it is far superior in general. The apple blog is running a story about his first impressions of the Mac Pro. To test the power he opened up 23 applications right off the boot.

Then I proceeded to open every application using the classic select all - command ‘o’ method. This unit had 23 applications open in 1:14s. Apps like Photoshop, Final Cut, DVD Studio, the entire iLife suite, and all the normal suspects. 3GB of RAM certainly helps this.

I know I for one can barely open photohop in like 30 seconds, especially when I am multitasking, but to open all those programs at the same time is sick.

Read more about the Mac Pro.

Wreck Lives

August 21st, 2006 · No Comments

Latly I haven’t been posting at all on here, and sorry for that, I am going to get back on the ball. I have been doing a lot of updating on my sites, and am about to reveal the new layout for UG that was promised to be in the works for some time. I have also greatly updated the anime sister site UnlimitedAnime. At the moment I am just trying to gather some of my stuff together and post it all at once.

As for Unlimited Gamer it turned 3 years old today which totally just blows my mind because it feels like I was just talking about how it was 2 years old and yet here it is another year older and all the wiser :P .

Anyway look forward to more stuff down the pipeline, I am also going to try and design some SKATEBOARDS, and well post them up and see if anyone wants to buy them, would be cool to buy a frisbee skateboard eh?

Mac Book Pro

August 9th, 2006 · No Comments

Well I finally got one. I must say it meets the hype thus far. While I have to admit that it also meets some of the negative hype I am not complaining. Thus far the thing is balls to the walls fast, aside from the heat its really slick and enjoyable.

I been enjoying iChat to it’s extent and need to get around to getting like msn and such because I know microsoft is discontinuing support for the mac which is bull crap they are so emo.

Anyway mad tired and no google toolbar yet so sorry about spelling, later.

Salvaging a Forum, and Refacing a Fansite

August 3rd, 2006 · No Comments

Ok so, as you all know, I run Unlimited Gamer. As of late I haven’t really liked much of the direction it has been going, mostly due to the dip in hits. I think that this is directly related to the recent change in navigation in the site. In other words, no offense, the users are too dumb to go into a playstation/playstation 2/xbox ect. section and find the game they are looking for. I find that it is actually reasonable. I personally know that with any general gaming site I use a search to find a section not the actual portal for the console. So the main problem is the users lack of ability to find what they are looking for.

So the solution is to revert back to the sites roots and showcase all of the games on the navigation like the good’ol days, this will also result in a slight shift of layout, I am going to have it match up with the forums slightly, and of course rid the home page of the wider navbar. This causes a number of problems, but most of which only occur on pages that will not be seen. With the resent change in how I post news with images those images will no longer fit across the whole page when I widen it, regardless of that I will make adjustments to future image posts so that all images fit correctly.

Lastly as I mentioned briefly I would be possibility realigning the site to fit the forums better, this means that the forums have to change, because the current default forum skin does match the site, so it wouldn’t make sense to model it after that. The slight change in alignment and design will be a green layout and I am very interested to see how it turns out with the fans, I am also going to be putting a good amount of money into advertising and maybe even the extra cash into a contest for the site.

Hopefully I can build back up activity, also note I will not be adding any more sections to UG for a while because I am going to be adding to some sections that are in need of construction like Kingdom Hearts 2.

Hope everyone is ready for the changes :P .

Counter-Strike Source

August 1st, 2006 · No Comments

As if this heat isn’t enough, the fact that I have CS isn’t helping my chances of going outside much. As of late I have become greatly addicted to counter-strike for what seems like the 5 year in a row :P . Regardless of the heat and gaming I have found some time in my non-busy schedule to update Unlimited Gamer. I have added the Gears of War section with some artwork and a little snippet of a preview. The media came from a fan-kit so I kept it simple and practical. Expect more information in that section when the game actually comes out, expect it to end up sort of like the Doom 3 section, with information on enemies, bosses and your weapons. After all it is an FPS not an RPG.

I am Kevin Green

July 30th, 2006 · No Comments

Ok, so I made this blog like… 12 days ago to be exact, while I did find this out technically on the 29th, its now passed midnight so whatever. Anyway, at first this blog was entirely hidden for various reasons, but some sites got to it and Google stumbled upon it so I set up a site map and got some technorati links rolling in. Now I was just kinda searching for my name “Kevin Green” on Google and well turns out this lil blog isn’t doing to bad.

Out of 71,000,000 results, this blog ranks 7th for the term Kevin Green. Now while some of you may be wondering? why are you repeating your name so much in this post? Simple I want to be ranked number 1 for “Kevin Green” on Google search results. While it is not exactly an insane feat, it’s something that my Kevin Green staff page on Unlimited Gamer has failed to achieve, in fact it’s somewhere in the 50’s plus area for the results of the term Kevin Green.

Check out the results for Kevin Green on Google. (everyone enjoy that spam of my name?)

Tomorrows Temperature: 1000 Degrees

July 29th, 2006 · No Comments

Not exactly that hot, but the fact is it’s getting insanely hot around here, and it’s totally ruining the entire summer. As if the temperatures and humidity haven’t been enough, it’s going to get worse. Another heat-wave is set to hit the entire country(world?) again this week, with temperatures to hit the upper 90’s, not to mention the humidity that rarely drops below 50%.

So yeah I will be spending some more time on here and the other sites for sure… so damn hot :(

Bomb Hills

July 28th, 2006 · 1 Comment

Well finally got to give my board a go sesh, but most of the time I spent pushing and not popping tricks around. Mike, Friz, and I went up to Sherwood Forest to bomb the whole neighborhood, it was a good 30-45 minutes of just cruising around. It was a ton of fun despite not really doing anything but rolling around. Anyway if you are ever in the area, go check out that hood, it’s mad fun, tons of clean paved bombness.
